Job-cost reporting and reconciliation
A dashboard with agreed job-code mappings, an exceptions list, and the source records behind every total, fed by the accounting export and the change-order tracker.

The situation
Finance had the accounting export. Project managers had the change-order tracker. The weekly review depended on someone joining the two in a spreadsheet, and when job codes or totals did not line up, the meeting was spent checking the report instead of deciding what needed attention.
What we built
- Import of the accounting export on an agreed schedule
- Ingestion of the change-order spreadsheet
- A shared job-code mapping both teams signed off on
- Budget, recorded-cost, and approved-change views per job
- An unmatched-record queue for anything that does not reconcile
- Drill-through from every total to the source rows, with data-freshness timestamps
Scope and support
The implementation took eight weeks and covered one accounting export, one change-order tracker, and three views, with staff training and thirty days of support.
Result
The weekly review starts from one reconciled number instead of a spreadsheet join.
